golf on television - ALPG Golf 2012 - ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open Online at Royal Melbourne Golf Club

The Women's Australian Open is a golf tournament played in Australia, operated by the ALPG Tour, long co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET), and as of 2012 also co-sanctioned by the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. In 2008, it was the second-richest women's golf tournament on the ALPG Tour, with a prize fund of A$500,000. With the co-sanctioning by the LPGA, its prize fund is now fixed in U.S. dollars at $1.1 million. It is known for sponsorship purposes as the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open.

The Australian Ladies Open was originally founded in 1974 as a 54-hole event, but folded after 1978. It was resurrected in 1994 as the Women's Australian Open, this time as a 72-hole event. Annika Sörenstam won that year, which was her first professional win. It was also Karrie Webb's professional debut, and she would later win the event four times. Starting in 2000, the Ladies European Tour began co-sanctioning the tournament.[1] Following the 2004 event, sponsorship difficulties caused the tournament to stop once again, but after a two-year hiatus the tournament returned in 2007.[2] The Women's Australian Open usually moves between various courses around Australia, except from 1995 through 2002 when it was held at the Yarra Yarra Golf Club in Melbourne. The 2008 event was held at Kingston Heath Golf Club.

golf on television - Champions Golf - Allianz Championship 2012 at Old Course at Broken Sound Club

The Champions Tour, a golf tour run by the PGA Tour, hosts a series of events annually in the United States and the United Kingdom for golfers 50 years of age and older. Many of the PGA Tour's most successful golfers have gone on to play on the Champions Tour.
The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50. The idea for a senior tour grew out of a highly successful event in 1978, the Legends of Golf, which featured competition between two-member teams of some of the greatest older golfers of that day. The tour was formally established in 1980 and was known as the Senior PGA Tour until October 2002. The original logo was based on the PGA Tour logo, with the red and blue reversed and with the golfer's profile modified to depict the wearing of a flat cap and plus fours.
Of the 26 tournaments on the 2010 schedule, all are in the United States except for the Senior British Open, a tournament in the Dominican Republic that started in 2008, and tournaments in Canada and South Korea starting in 2010. The guaranteed minimum official prize money is $51.5 million over 26 tournaments, with a record average purse of $1.98 million per event;[1] slightly higher than the 2008 prize money of $51.4 million over the same number of events.[2] The total prize money and number of events, however, are down from previous years—for example, the 2007 tour offered a total of $55.2 million over 29 events.[3]
Most of the tournaments are played over three rounds (54 holes), which is one round less than regular professional stroke play tournaments on the PGA Tour. Because of this and having smaller fields, there are generally no "cuts" between any of the rounds. However, the five senior majors have a full 72 holes (four rounds). A golfer's performances can be quite variable from one round to the next, and playing an extra round increases the likelihood that the senior majors will be won by leading players.

The Allianz Championship is a golf tournament on the Champions Tour. Since 2007 it has been played at the Old Course at Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton, Florida.
The purse for the 2011 tournament was US$1,800,000, with $270,000 going to the winner.

On the Champion's Tour this week is the Allianz Championship, held at The Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Florida. The purse for this event is $1,800,000 with the winner walking away with $270,000 of that. It happens February 10th through the 12th and last year it was Tom Lehman who took home the title. The next tournament will be the ACE Group Classic at the TwinEagles Golf Club in Naples, Florida, from February 17th through the 19th. In March, the Champions Tour will hold the Toshiba Classic in California.
Michael Allen and Mike Goodes are playing in this event. Kenny Perry and John Harris are also on the field along with Phil Blackmar and Chip Beck. Andy Bean and Lonnie Nielsen are playing along with Olin Brown, Mark Brooks and Jay Blake. Some of the others include Scott Simpson, Russ Cochran, Jim Carter and Tom Kite. Sign up at the banners and you'll be able to watch this golf tournament live along with many others, right from your computer or mobile device. Just click on the banners to get started right away.
